HARVARD, 13; DARTMOUTH, 7.

An Uninteresting Game Won Easily in Five Innings.

The 'Varsity nine defeated Dartmouth yesterday afternoon by a score of 13-7, in an uninteresting game which was called on account of the cold at the end of five innings.

After the first inning when Fitz pitched a rather uncertain game, allowing Dartmouth to score three runs, the 'Varsity had everything its own way and scored almost at will. Patey was found for sleven hits, and behind the bat was poorly supported by Drew. Many of Harvard's runs were the result of passed balls, while Laughlin and Haughton both made two bases on strike outs which were poorly fielded.

In fielding, the 'Varsity had very few chances for anything but fly balls. Laughlin was decidedly off form, although he made the star play of the game in catching a high line drive off Drew's bat. At the bat he struck out twice and reached first only once, on an error.

The batting and base running of the 'Varsity was the most encouraging feature of the afternoon's work. All the hits were clean and timely, and with men on bases, the right plays were always forthcoming.

Cozzens was in centre field in place of Lynch who is still disabled with a lame leg.
