The Worcester High School won the annual mile and a half race on Lake Quinsigamond with the Freshmen, Last Saturday, by three lengths, in 8m. 3-5s. The Worcester crew started out with a 44 stroke which it maintained to the finish. The Freshmen rowed a 35 stroke. At the three-quarter mark, Worcester led by a half length. Here the two crews drew together and Whitney bent his outrigger by strilking the Worcester coxswain in the back. Talbot broke his oar and thole pin. The boats then separated, Worcester gradually increasing its lead.

The race was awarded to Worcester although the referee's launch was so far behind that it was impossible to judge which boat had made the foul.
