The St. Paul's Society held a reception last night for the churchmen of the University in Phillips Brooks House, at which about one hundred men were present. The Rev. William G. Thayer of St. Mark's who was to have made an address was unable to come. Addresses were made by the Rev. E. M. Parker and Professor W. J. Ashley.
Mr. Parker emphasized the value of keeping up old associations in college and of not losing sight of good habits and high standards.
Professor Ashley spoke of the danger or falling into bad habits at the beginning of the college course and of the necessity of getting a good start.
Refreshments were served after the speaking.
