The Freshman nine was defeated by St. Mark's at Southboro last Saturday by the score of 5 to 3. The Freshmen lost the game in the first inning, when with men on bases Smith gave two bases on balls and hit a third man. The Freshman base running, particularly that of Leary, was very poor. In the sixth inning Smith and Thomas, the battery, were replaced by Tuckerman and Mason, who worked together well.
