At a meeting of the Corporation held yesterday, it was voted to accept the plans which have been drawn for an addition to Boylston Hall. The addition, which is intended for temporary use in the next few years, will be eighty-three feet long and thirty-three feet wide and will be built on the south side of the present building. It will contain one large room to be used as a laboratory for elementary classes in chemistry, and also a basement for general use. The construction will be supported by brick piers. Cement plaster will be used on the outside so as to match the main building as much as possible. Work will begin in about ten days and the addition will be ready for occupancy at the opening of the University in the fall.
It was also voted to increase the present telephone system but just how many new telephones will be added will be determined later.
