"The Bankside and the Theatres" is the subject of a lecture which Professor G. P. Baker '87 will give in the Fogg Lecture Room at 8 o'clock this evening. The lecture is the second of a series of two on "Shakespeare's London." The greater part of the lecture will be devoted to the theatres of Shakespeare's time, together with a description of the "Bankside" which was a portion of the city along the southerly bank of the Thames river, where a great many of the actors lived, including Shakespeare himself. Professor Baker has views of this section and of all the old theatres, which will be used to illustrate the lecture. The lecture is open to the public.
