The University Debating Club last evening adopted the following debating system: The Freshman and Sophomore clubs are retained in their present form. The Senior and Junior clubs are abolished, and a new club, called the University Debating Club, is to be formed, to which all members of the University, save Freshmen and Sophomores, will be eligible. An amendment to the Constitution was prepared altering the name of the present University Debating Club to the University Debating Committee. The Interclass debating system is retained, but outside debates are prohibited to all classes save the Freshmen, whose annual debate with Exeter is to be continued. A committee was appointed to secure at once coaches for the Yale and Princeton debates, and it was voted to present coaches henceforth with a cup. A proposal from Yale to hold the Harvard-Yale debate on December 4, was not definitely acted upon.
