First Freshman Practice.

The candidates for the Freshman football team began work yesterday afternoon on Soldiers Field under the direction of C. W. Randall '05. The practice, which was very light, consisted principally in passing and falling on the ball, and in starting when the ball was put in play. The men have been divided into five squads, and the following squad captains have been appointed: F. K. Leatherbee, H. Tweed, R. C. Risley., F. O. Thompson, N. F. Emmons.

The work of the squad during the next few days will be light, and will be directed toward getting the men into condition for the first line-up, which will probably take place early next week.

The first game of the season is with Groton School at Groton on October 17.
