The classes at the Cambridge Social Union will hold their first sessions for this year on Monday, October 12. A preliminary meeting will be held in Brattle Hall next Thursday evening at 8 o'clock. At this meeting the work proposed for the year will be outlined, and the classes organized. Men who are to teach in the Union and any others interested in its work are invited to be present.

Classes will be organized in six departments: English, French, German, History, Mathematics, Science, and Music, each of which will be in charge of a superintendent. A special effort will be made to prepare candidates for the Civil Service Examinations.

Last year 38 teachers conducted 40 classes, with about 200 pupils enrolled. The Educational Department will this year be in charge of H. F. Preston '04.
