The University hockey team held its first practice in the Holmes Field rink yesterday afternoon. The ice was good, and the play was fast, except that the forwards were slow in following up the puck when the defense sent it away from the goal by lifting.
The team work was uncertain and the shooting for goals unsuccessful, because the men were not quick enough in getting the shots off. On defense, the team was fairly strong, but lacked aggressiveness when blocking the opposing forwards.
The line-up of the first team was: Tilden, goal; Carr, point; Clothier, cover-point; Souther, defense; Newhall, centre; MacLeod, left end; Kernan, right end.
