NEW YORK, Feb. 13.--The University basketball team was defeated by the Columbia five in the Columbia gymnasium this evening by the score of 19 to 11. Columbia showed the result of her superior team work throughout, the score at the end of the first half standing 9 to 5. The Harvard team were weak on goals and succeeded in throwing but three baskets from the floor in the entire game.
