A Social Service conference will be held this evening at 7.30 o'clock in the Parlor of Phillips Brooks House, at which Mr. John Graham Brooks Dv.'75, of Cambridge, will give an informal talk on "The Significance of the Award of the Coal Strike Commission."
Mr. Brooks is a recognized authority on social and industrial subjects, and his recent book, "Social Unrest," has received wide attention and been recognized as an unusually able and important contribution to the discussion of the present day social conditions. He has made several trips to Pennsylvania during the recent coal strike and has personally investigated the accounts of violence and the general conditions of the strike. He also had an opportunity to hear the personal opinions of both the laborers and capitalists. After the talk there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion. The meeting will be open to all members of the University.
