The Committee on Metropolitan Affairs, to which was referred the question of a dam across the Charles River, voted at its last meeting to report to the legislature a bill providing for the appointment of a commission to do the work. This commission is to be appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Council. It will be a commission of experts, and the recess committee, which reported favorably to the legislature, will be represented on it.
