Second Nine Plays Exeter Today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Second nine will play Phillips Exeter Academy at Exeter this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Last year Exeter defeated the Second nine by the score of 5 to 4, and the game today will undoubtedly be close, but the Second nine should win if Hammond pitches as well as he did in the Andover game. Exeter has this spring been batting strongly, but is weak is fielding and base-running. The Second nine has held but one practice since the Groton game on Saturday, but in that showed some improvement in batting.

The batting orders: SECOND NINE  EXETER Carpenter, c.f.  2b., Cenedelia Marshall, 2b.  l.f., Flock Parker, c.  c., Cooney Fischel, 1b.  c.f., Heim Bolton, 3b  1b., Rider Hammond, p.  r.f., Kent Colby  s.s., Cashin Murphy, s.s.  3b., Tombes Blatterman, Adams, r.f.  p., Rowe
