The executive committee of the Sophomore Debating Club has submitted to the Freshmen the following question for the first of the interclass debates: "Resolved, That the army canteen should be re-established." The first trials for the Sophomore team will be held Tuesday evening, and for the Freshman team on Wednesday. The final trials for both teams will come on Monday, November 21.

In both clubs the trials will be similar. At the first trial five minute speeches will, be made and six men will be retained. At the second trial these six men will be divided into two teams which will hold a regular debate. Eight minutes will be allowed for main speeches and five minutes for rebuttal.

Any man in either the Sophomore or Freshman class is eligible to compete for his respective team, whether or not he is a member of his class debating club. All Sophomores who intend to compete must send their names to W. H. Keeling, 364 Harvard street, before Monday night, and Freshmen, to H. S. Blair, Dana 36, before Tuesday night. The order of speaking will be posted in the Reading Room of Gore Hall on the day of the debate.
