New System of University Guides

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Persons desiring student guides for the grounds and buildings of the University may usually obtain them by inquiring at any of the offices of the University, and may hire them at the following rates: One hour for one or two persons, 40 cents; one hour for each additional person, 20 cents; each additional hour or fraction thereof, pro rata.

Men will be on duty in the reading room in Gore Hall, where they may be reached by telephone from 9 to 5 o'clock every day in the week including Sunday. Only two hours still remain vacant. Every man has a free hour after his hour on duty so that in case he is called during the latter part of his period on duty his other work will not be interfered with. These student guides are mainly upperclassmen, but there are a few Freshmen and several Graduate students. About 25 men, each of whom gives from one to five hours a week to the work, are on duty. All these men have been licensed by the Bursar, and no unlicensed person is expected to guide visitors about the grounds or buildings for hire.
