The Pennsylvania Team

The University of Pennsylvania this year started the football season with the most encouraging prospects in many years, but a series of accidents, coupled with the barring by the Faculty of the captain and star kicker, Reynolds, materially retarded the early development of the team. With a large amount of good material at hand, however, with which to fill these unexpected vacancies, a strong eleven with an excellent offense has been produced.

Sheble, a substitute on last year's team, has shown such improvement in kicking, that he will fill Reynold's place at left halfback. The hardest positions to fill satisfactorily have been those of Ziegler at guard and Weede at end. Stevenson, at quarterback, is again running the team well. Folwell, fullback, is heavier than he was last year and has been playing a strong game. Greene, because of his consistently good work all the fall, will undoubtedly be Sheble's partner at halfback.

During the past week special attention has been given to the ends so that the team now plays a fast game that is hard to stop.
