In the first game of the interclass basketball series last night, the Seniors defeated the Juniors by the score of 12 to 11. The game was very close and exciting throughout, and was not decided until the last few minutes of play. Both teams showed lack of practice in their team play, but the Seniors excelled in guarding.

The line-up was as follows: 1906.  1907. Ware, l.f.  r.f., Reed Mendel, r.f.  l.f., McCarty Gring, c.  c., Smith Proctor, Townsend, l.g.  r.g., Howard Holmes, r.g.  l.g., Clark

Score--1906, 12; 1907, 11. Goals from the floor--Holmes 4, McCarty 2, Gring 1, Reed 1, Smith 1. Goals from fouls--McCarty 3, Mendel 2. Referee--H.R. Snyder 1L. Umpire--H.V. Amberg '08. Timekeepers--L.W. Clark '06, S.L. Carr '07. Time--20-minute halves.

The second game of the interclass series will be played between the Sophomores and the Freshmen in the Gymnasium this evening at 7.30 o'clock. All the members of the Sophomore team were on the Freshman squad last year, and consequently they have developed better team play than the Freshmen. About 30 men reported for the Freshman team, and although the team has some good individual players its team work is still rather weak.

The line-up will be as follows: 1908.  1909. Brown, l.f.  r.f., Currie Barber, r.f.  l.f., Allen Amberg, c.  c., Dial Marsh, l.g.  r.g., Brooks Dwelley, r.g.  l.g., Dean

The final game of the series will be played on Thursday night.
