The Freshman baseball team was defeated by Andover at Andover yesterday afternoon by a score of 2 to 1 in a well played game. With the exception of the pitcher, the regular Andover nine was in the field. The Freshmen outbatted Andover and earned their only run, but were careless in running bases, losing two runs in this way. Lincoln pitched an excellent game. He allowed only four hits and gave only one base on balls. Both of Andover's runs were the result of errors.
In the first inning Schildmiller made a hit for Andover and came home on an error. Another error by the Freshmen in the third inning gave Andover its second run, after Taylor had reached first base because he was hit by a pitched ball. The Freshmen scored their only run in the second inning. Ware made a two-base hit, reached third on a single by Pritchett, and scored on Pounds' fly to right field.
