Over 200 Men Competed.--Average Performances Better Than Last Year.

More than 200 men competed in the third annual University field day sports held on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. Although no records were broken the average performances were an improvement over last year.

The 440-yard run was the most interesting race. M. B. Van Brunt '08 gained about 10 yards at the start and held his lead until the last 40 yards, when P. C. Haskell '08 spurted and passed him in the last five yards. E. Becker '08 was a close third.
