Owing to the hard four-mile row Wednesday and the prevailing hot weather, the Yale crews were given only light work yesterday. The practice in the morning consisted of easy stretches. In the afternoon the University eight defeated the Freshman eight in a mile race upstream by half a length of open water. Both crews then returned to their quarters. The University four-oar and a four-oar made up of substitutes also raced a mile, the University boat winning by four lengths.
