SWIMMING MEET WITH BROWN

At Providence This Evening at 8 o'clock.--Harvard Has a Strong Team.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

This evening at 8 o'clock the University swimming team will hold its first dual meet of the season with Brown at Providence. The program will include the following events: 50-yard dash, 100-yard dash, 220-yard swim, plunge for distance, diving, four-man relay race, and a water polo game. In scoring, first place in each of the first five events will count 5 points, second place 3, third place 1; and the relay race will count 8 points for the winner. The water polo game, however, will be scored separately and will count as one game toward the intercollegiate championship.

During the past week the University team has developed rapidly under the coaching of W. Boyce and R. McCormick of the Brookline Swimming Club, and is considered stronger than last year's team. Harvard should win the 50-yard dash, the 100-yard dash, the diving competition, and the relay race, but Brown is considered slightly stronger in the 220-yard swim, the plunge, and at water polo.

The following men will represent Harvard in the different events:

50-yard dash--E. Farley '07, J. V. Quinlan '07.

100-yard dash--P. Withington '09, O. A. Wyman '08.
