The annual University Reception will be held this year in the Union on Friday evening, January 18, at 8.30 o'clock. Invitations to become subscribers have been sent to all officers of the University and of Radcliffe College, as well as to members of the Visiting Committees. The price of tickets is $1 for each person. Besides their own tickets, subscribers are entitled to purchase tickets for the ladies of their families, and for guests not resident in the neighborhood of Cambridge. Each ticket will bear the name of the person who is to present it. The names of all persons for whom tickets are desired should be sent, with remittance, to Mr. G. H. Chase, Grays 24, as early as possible.
The arrangements of the reception will be similar to those of former years. The patronesses will receive in the Living Room from half-past eight to half-past nine o'clock. Supper will be served in the Dining Room from half-past nine to eleven. There will be dancing in the Periodical Room from nine to twelve. On the evening of the reception, entrance to the Union will be by the east door.
The patronesses who will receive are Mrs. C. W. Eliot, Mrs. J. B. Ames, Mrs. G. L. Goodale, and Mrs. C. H. Toy. The special guests, who have been invited by the managers, have not yet responded, so that the names of these guests cannot be published until later.
