‘The Architect of the Whole Plan’: Harvard Law Graduate Ken Chesebro’s Path to Jan. 6
A series of public lectures, delivered for the most part by graduates of the University, will be given at the Old South Church, Boston, during the winter, on subjects connected with the graduates and history of Harvard University. The lectures will be open to the public, although the are intended primarily for students. The course will be given on successive Monday evenings, beginning the first Monday in January.
Dean Hodges, of the Episcopal Theological School, will deliver the first lecture, on "John Harvard and the English Cambridge of his Time," and he will be followed by Professor James K. Hosmer '55, who will speak on "The First Century of Harvard college." The remaining lectures of the course will be given by Professor Edward Channing '78, on "The Second Century of Harvard College"; President Charles W. Eliot '53, on "Harvard University Fifty Years Ago"; and Mr. William C. Lane '81, on "Harvard Past and Present." Mr. Lane's lecture will be illustrated by views of the Yard and the College buildings which date back to the year 1726. Besides the lectures already planned, there will be illustrated lectures on "Harvard Men Past and Present," the dates and subjects of which will be announced later.
