CHANGE IN UNIVERSITY CREW

RED TOP, June 15, 1906--A change was made in the order of the University crew today, Richards replacing Morgan at 3. Swaim took Richard's place at 2 in the University four-oar. As E. Cutler was unable to row today, Butler took his place at 2 in the Freshman four-oar.

The University shell went more smoothly today than it has for some time past. Both the University and Freshman eights rowed down stream for two miles in the morning and afternoon, and up stream together for about a mile and a half in the afternoon, the University crew gradually pulling away from the Freshmen. In the practice this afternoon the University and Freshman eights used their new oars, which yesterday arrived from Shea of Springfield. The buttons on Bacon's and Rackemann's outriggers loosened, and the shells were drawn alongside the launch to have them tightened. This morning Coach Wray instructed the men from his single scull, but in the afternoon coached from the launch.

The University four-oar rowed together this afternoon, but in the morning the men went out in pair oars. The Freshman four-oar covered about nine miles today.
