Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
The first annual elections to the new Student Council will be held by Australian ballot in the CRIMSON office from 9 A. M. to 6 P. M. today.
In accordance with the constitution of the Student Council, the nominating committee has prepared nominations from the three upper classes for the two delegates at large to be elected from each class. As no additional nominations have been made by petition, the following is the complete list:
From 1909--E. S. Allen, J. M. Groton, L. K. Lunt, R. M. Middlemass, W. G. Wendell.
From 1910--R. C. Brown, H. Fish, C. L. Lanigan, S. A. Sargent, H. Watson, P. Wyman.
From 1911-H. Forster, C. Hann, Jr., H. Jaques, Jr., T. T. Scudder, P. D. Smith, A. Sweetser.
According to a provision of the constitution, within 48 hours of the election the temporary chairman will convene a meeting of the Council, at which the annual election of officers will take place. Also at this meeting the three delegates from the College at large will be elected.
The following have been appointed watchers at the polls and will report at the CRIMSON office promptly at the hours assigned:

The following is an extract from the constitution of the Council:
"The purpose of this Council is thoroughly to co-operate with the Faculty in raising the general intellectual standard at Harvard as stated in the undergraduate petition to the Faculty dated April 29, 1908, to bring before governing bodies of the University, and to co-operate with the Athletic Committee in eradicating the specific evils in the conduct of athletics. The attainment of this purpose is to be effected in part by direct jurisdiction over individual students, the method of so doing to be explained here-after, and in part by creating the general sentiment that it is a question of individual and college honor to maintain a strict attention to scholastic duties."
