At the trial debating contest for the Pasteur Medal in Dane Hall last night the following seven men were retained for the final contest on January 14: J. C. Bills, Jr., '09, C. S. Collier '11, J. W. Finkel '11, G. L. Harding '10, R. H. Smith '10, F. Stern '12, and H. T. Viets '09. The original intention was to choose six men, but the judges decided, owing to the closeness of the competition, to retain seven. In the final contest, which will be public, each man will speak for twelve minutes.
The judges were the Marquis de Bouthillier-Chavigny, Professor R. M. Johnston, M. Allard, M. C. Leckner '07, and J. S. Davis '07.
