Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
The week's rowing ended yesterday with eleven crews on the river, four from the University squad and seven from the Freshman. The water was rough and choppy, and good feathering was well nigh impossible. For the first time this year the John Harvard was put in commisison, from the bow of which Conch Stevenson was able to watch the rowing of the Freshmen.
The four University crews all left the boathouse yesterday about four o'clock and headed up-stream. In the absence of Lunt, Coach Wray went in at number four, so that the order of the other crews might not be broken. Moral at stroke, having replaced Sargent on Monday, pulls an excellent oar, getting a longer reach and harder drive at the finish. Waid who was taken from the second crew and put in at five in the first, rows in good form, and gets a good deal of power into each stroke.
The three other crews are rowing each day in preparation for the race next Saturday: after the race the first cut will be made, and only one eight in addition to the University crew will be retained.
The order of the four crews is as follows:
Crew A--Stroke, Morgan; 7, Richardson; 6, E. Bacon; 5, Waid; 4, Lunt; 3, Severance; 2, Fish; bow, Faulkner; cox., Blagden.
Crew B--Stroke, Reece; 7, Tilton; 6, Lovering; 5, Wyman; 4, Hyde; 3, Rackemann; 2, Sargent; bow, E. Cutlet; cox., King.
Crew C--Stroke, J. Cutler; 7, Marvin; 6. G. Bacon; 5, Withington; 4, Vogel; 3, Ball; 2, Fahnestock; bow, Ellis; cox., Adams.
Crew D--Stroke, Martin; 7, Deming; 6, Beaman; 5, Lowell; 4, Hanfstaengl; 3. Hadden; 2, Hill; bow, Forster; cox., Simon.
Work of Freshman Squad.
The freshman crew have been out in force during the week, thus giving Coach Stevenson a good chance to look the men over. Many of the crews are naturally awkward and unsteady; but the first two showed up well yesterday both in form and endurance. No cut has been made yet.
The order of the first two crews follows.
Crew A--Stroke, Cutler; 7, Hooper; 6, Smith; 5. Banker; 4, Perkins; 3, Whitney; 2, Forster; bow, Harding; cox., Fales.
Crew B--Stroke, Shillito; 7, Jowett; 6, Eaton; 5, Ellis; 4, Sabine; 3, Hall; 2, Richardson; bow, Reece; cox., Everett.
