Variation in Baseball Practice.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A variation was introduced into the practice of the University baseball squad yesterday afternoon, when a sort of practice game was held. Two teams in which changes were made from time to time were pitted against each other, although the batteries did not change with the teams. In the course of the practice several batteries were tried, but none of the first string pitchers were used. It was the first opportunity for outdoor batting and pitching, and several of the batters showed up to good advantage against the second string pitchers.

After about 8 innings of this practice a team comprising the following men was sent onto the field for a simple round of fielding: Cate, c.; Briggs, 1b.; Aronson, Keefe, 2b.; Simons, s.s.; Leonard, 3b.; Dana, Waters, Harvey, Pounds, Pond outfielders.
