PROGRESS OF CLASS ROWING

Upperclass Captains Elected Yesterday. -More Seniors Needed.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

At a meeting of the class crews yesterday afternoon II. W. Hyde was elected captain of the Senior crew, and J. W. Cutler captain of the Juniors. The election of Sophomore captain was postponed for a week on account of the unsettled order of the boat.

The Seniors have had considerable trouble getting an eight together, and yesterday rowed with substitutes from other classes in the boat.

The Junior crew is the most premising of the class crews. They are smooth, row well together, and are developing more rapidly than the others.

The Sophomores have good material, but are not doing so well as might be expected. The order of the boat is very unsettled, and there is considerable difficulty in finding a stroke.

The Freshmen are well advanced for so early in the year. Several new men have been tried in the boat during the last few days, and Smith has been moved from 6 to 5. The boat shows promise of developing considerable power.

The orders of the boats as they went out yesterday are:

1908-Stroke, Despard; 7, O. G. Wood; 6, P. Wood; 5, Jackson; 4, Butler; 3, Young; 2, Barrow; bow, Crocker; cox., Dutton.

1909-Stroke, Butler; 7, Withington; 6, Ellis; 5, Rackemann; 4, Hanfstaengl; 3, Richardson; 2, Vaughn; bow, Richards; cox., Simon.

1910-Stroke, Maxwell; 7, Macleod; 6, Beaman; 5, Deming; 4, Vogel; 3, Hadden; 2, Hill; bow, Forster; cox., Warren.

1911-Stroke, Cutler; 7, Hooper; 6, Eaton; 5, Smith; 4, Perkins; 3, Waite; 2, Forster; bow, Reece; cox., Fales.
