NEW H. D. A. PLAN CONTINUES

Favorable Vote Last Night.--Training Tables to be Added Soon.

The vote taken at Memorial Hall during the dinner hour last night on "Shall the present system be continued, or the former system be restored, until such time as a representative committee of five, to be appointed by the president from the table delegates, can investigate conditions and discover a more satisfactory system, which shall be approved by the directors and the Corporation," resulted in 541 votes in favor of continuing the present system, and 161 against it. In accordance with the action taken at the meeting of the table delegates, the directors will present a petition to the Corporation asking that the guarantee of $4 per week for general board be extended.

The vote clearly indicates the popularity of the new plan. While the average total cost of board for March was $4.96, it was $5.38 during March 1907. The allowance for absence over Sunday has also proved a popular measure, as 25 per cent. of the members have taken advantage of it.

The membership of the hall will be considerably augmented April 6 by the addition of sixty men on the track and lacrosse training tables, and it is probable that class crew training tables will be started there after the April recess. If the association can secure the baseball training table, the falling off in membership which generally occurs after the Easter vacation will be very effectually counterbalanced. Several measures have been suggested to increase the popularity of the hall. One which is favorably looked upon is to provide music two nights a week after the baseball games.
