REPUBLICAN CLUB FORMED

An enthusiastic meeting of about 150 Republicans was held last night in the Union. The meeting was called to order by A. M. Van Rensselaer Sp., who said that the Harvard Republican Club would be under the direction of the Republican Intercollegiate and the Republican State committees.

The following officers were elected: President, W. A. Powers 2L.; vice-president, R. L. Bacon 1L.; secretary, A. M. Van Rensselaer Sp.; treasurer, H. M. Gilmore '08.

The club was then addressed by Mr. D. S. Lunt '04, president of the National Republican College League in 1904. He told of the wide extension of the branches of the league and suggested that speakers be sent from the National League, mentioning that possibly the candidates themselves would come and speak.

After adopting the following resolution the meeting was adjourned: "Realizing and appreciating the value of unity within the Republican party be it.

"Resolved, that we, the members of the Republican Club of Harvard in meeting assembled, do hereby put ourselves on record as opposed to the endorsement of any candidate for Presidential honors until after the meeting of the National Republican Convention in Chicago, and;

"Further resolved, that it is the sentiment of this organization solidly to support the candidates of the Republican Party as nominated in the National Convention in July."
