The University baseball team will meet Amherst on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 4 o'clock. The game will be of especial interest as it is the last opportunity to see the team play before the Princeton game on Saturday.
The Harvard line-up will be changed in several ways today as a result of Captain Leonard's return to the game after a long absence, and Aronson's reinstatement in the outfield. The latter is entirely recovered from the injury received in the Annapolis game. Lanigan will pitch his second game of the year this afternoon and Dana will be moved to left field. Harvey's strong batting of late insures him his old position in centre field.
Amherst was defeated last year, 2 to 0, with Brennan in the box. The team this year does not appear as strong as last year's but it has played some creditable games. It has been defeated five times: by Virginia, 1 to 0, and 5 to 1; by Georgetown, 9 to 0; by Pennsylvania, 2 to 1; and by Williams, 6 to 4. Victories have been scored against the Agricultural College, against Tufts, 3 to 1, and against Lafayette, 5 to 2. Brick, who will pitch this afternoon, is not an exceptional player, but is the best Amherst pitcher at present.
