Hasty Pudding Play for this Year

The Hasty Pudding Club will present this year for its annual play a musical comedy in two acts, entitled "The Builders of Babylon." The book and lyrics are by W. G. Wendell '09, and H. W. H. Powel, Jr., '09, and the music by J. A. Warner '09.

The scene of the first act is laid in a plain near Babylon. Queen Semiramais of Egypt is visiting King Nimrod at the time when the tower of Babel is nearing completion, but which has been delayed by disputes between the builders, the firm of Hem and Haw. King Nimrod with difficulty evades the blandishments of the queen. The scene of the second act is laid at the bast of the tower of Babel. Hem and Haw settle their differences and attempt to complete the tower when they are frustrated by that famous catastrophe. The nation of Babylon is disorganized by the confusion of tongues, and in disgust Nimrod leaves with the queen for Egypt.

There will be in all six performances of the play, graduates' night March 27, undergraduates' night March 29, and two public performances, all in the club theatre. There will also be two public performances in Jordan Hall, Boston, on April 1 and 3. The cast has not yet been selected. The cast has not yet been selected.
