New Courses Announced for 1909-10

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences announced 45 new courses to be added to or and substituted for the elective courses announced last year, and 28 courses to be omitted. In Government 1 President Towell's place will be filled by Assistant Professor W. B. Munro.

In the department of History and Government, Professor Meyer, exchange professor from the University of Berlin will give History 3a 1-hf,-3b 2-hf, 45 and 20K. Other new courses in this department will be History 30 2-hf, Government 24 2-hf, Economics 24 2-hf, Government 18 2-hf, and 25 1-hf, and Economics 24 2-hf.

In the department of Semitic Languages and History the new courses will be 17, 18 and A20, by Professor Arnold.

Among the courses omitted in the English department will be English 41, English 31, by Mr. Hagedorn; 57 hf, and 58 hf, will be added.

German 29 and 20c 2-hf by Professor White and 20a 1-hf and 20b 2-hf by Professor Francke will be added.

French 14 will be added in the department of Romance Languages and Literatures.

Comparative Literature 31b 2-hf on English-Literature from 1600 to the Restoration, examined in the light of its English and continental origins will be added to the department of Comparative Literature.

In the department of Philosophy, Philosophy 23 1-hf, 22, by Professor Santayana, 24 2-hf, by Professor Royce, 7a, 20g, and 20h 2-hf, will be added.

Fine Arts 20b 2-hf, on Florentine painting, by Mr. E. W. Forbes, will be added.

Architecture 7a 1-hf and 7b 2-hf, by Mr. E. O. Parker, and 20c will be added in the department of Architecture. Three new courses in the department of Landscape Architecture: 11, 5, and 10, will be given.

Mathematics 9 by Assistant Professor Coolidge and Mathematics 27 2-hf will be added.

In the department of Zoology, Professor Mark will give a new course, Zoology 12, 1-hf.

The only new course in the department of Geology will be 10 1-hf by Professor Palache.

The new courses in the Graduate School of Business Administration will be Business 14 2-hf, 15 2-hf, 16, Mining 2; given by Professor H. L. Smyth, Business 18, 22 and 32
