The Freshman Dinner.
To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
In order to prove conclusively the great exaggeration of the reports at present in circulation concerning the misconduct at the recent Freshman dinner, we, the officers of the class, thanks to the kindness of the manager of the American House, are able to publish the following statement:
"Dear Sirs:--At your request I am writing in regard to Freshman dinner held here March 10.
"The management considers that the officers of the class did all that was in their power to make a success of the dinner and that the majority of the class co-operated with them, but it was not foreseen by them, or the class, that a party of fifteen who had arranged a table together, should arrive at the hotel in an intoxicated condition, and that they should endeavor to do everything possible to see that the dinner was not a success. Whatever rowdyism occurred was due to these fifteen, and it was necessary to finally bar them from the room.
"The report of breakage of dishes was much exaggerated, it being actually less than $3, although the bill for damages was greatly in excess of this, due again to the fifteen. "Yours truly, "Allen C. Jones."
"March 16, 1910." R. P. LEWIS, Pres. P. L. WENDELL, Vice-Pres. G. H. ROOSEVELT, Sec.
