REVIEW OF SPRING PRACTICE

Football Squad Held Lively Scrimmage Yesterday with Good Results.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The last spring football practice was held yesterday afternoon. For the past three weeks the squad has been working hard on the new rules trying to learn and understand them. Coach Haughton, who resumed his work last Monday, has been assisted by H. Fish, Jr., '10, F. H. Burr '09, F. Cutting '09, and other graduates, in addition to a number of Seniors.

Special attention was given during the first week to falling on the ball, starting, passing and tackling the dummy. At the beginning of the second week, the work became harder and consisted of breaking through the line and short scrimmages with simple formations. Practice this week has consisted entirely of football according to the new rules.

The rules committee will meet April 29 and definitely decide upon the rules for next season. After that voluntary practice will be held in order that the men may adapt themselves to the new conditions and develop new formations. Nobody was injured this spring which is a much better record than the squad has had for several years.

Yesterday's Practice.

Yesterday a short scrimmage of twenty minutes was held in which the red team defeated the black team by a score of 16 to 6. Three of the four touchdowns were made by intercepting forward passes over the centre of the line and making long runs for touchdowns. The fourth was the result of a plunge through centre by Wigglesworth from the 1-yard line.
