Defeated All-Southern Team 5-0 and Tied with Sewanee-Vanderbilt.

During the Christmas recess the All-Star football team took a short southern trip and played three games--at Nashville, Memphis and Baton Rouge. It was first intended to play at Memphis on Wednesday, Nashville on Thursday, and Baton Rouge on Saturday, but rain interfered, and Postponements were necessary.

The first game was played on Friday at Nashville against a combination of graduates of Sewanee, Vanderbilt, and Michigan. The field was slippery and treacherous from long rains, and neither side was able to score. The All-Stars had better team-work and gained more consistently, but were unable to score owing to the good defensive work of Smith and Schultz. The nearest approach to a score was when Fish, of the All-Stars, was downed on the 10-yard line after recovering a muffed punt.

On Saturday the All-Stars defeated an All-Southern team by the score of 5 to 0. The score was made by Williams, who ran 20 yards for a touchdown after receiving a forward pass from Galatti. With the exception of this touchdown the All-Stars never came nearer than 12 yards to their opponents' goal. The southerners just missed scoring a safety when Marre tackled Dewey after the kick-off on his two-yard line. The All-Stars punted out of danger, however.

Yesterday afternoon a 0 to 0 game was played with Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge. The All-Star players were somewhat handicapped by their long journey, and a strong wind interfered with accurate kicking. This game was the last before the All-Stars return north.
