The first two games of the class football series were played yesterday afternoon, resulting in victories for the Seniors and the Sophomores. The former won from the Juniors by the score of 5 to 0, while the Sophomores defeated the second Freshman team by the score of 3 to 0.
The Seniors and the Juniors played a hard game, although at times the play was decidedly ragged. Soon after the kick-off the Seniors rushed the ball to the Juniors' 30-yard line and, following two end runs, Candee was sent through tackle for the first and only score of the game. During the remaining periods the Juniors played a harder game and twice threatened the Seniors' goal, but seemed to lack the necessary driving-power to force the ball over the line. Captain Clifford at right end did excellent work for the Seniors, while Eckfeldt, Marsh, Makepeace and Steele played well for the Juniors.
The only score in the game between the Sophomores and the second Freshman team came in the first half when L. H. Mills '14, kicked a field-goal from the 15-yard line. The Freshmen, using an open style game, clearly outplayed the Sophomores, but the ends on the latter team were largely responsible for preventing a touchdown by the 1915 team.
