Hon. H. H. D. Peirce ex-'71, United States Ambassador to Norway, will speak on "The Land of the Vikings," in Brattle Hall this afternoon at 4.45 o'clock.

Mr. Peirce has been prominent in diplomatic circles since 1894, when he was appointed secretary of the United States Legation at St. Petersburg. In 1898, he was appointed secretary of the Embassy, and held that position for several years. He acted as United States charge d'affaires on a number of occasions, and finally was appointed ambassador to Norway in 1906, which position he has held ever since.
