3 TO 0 VICTORY YESTERDAY

Captain McLaughlin's pitching was the feature of the game with Bowdoin yesterday. As a result of his effective work the visitors were held scoreless, while the University team made three runs. McLaughlin allowed but three hits, one of which was a scratch. He showed a slight tendency to wildness at the start, but after the fourth inning not a visitor reached second.

The University team fielded in good style, two double plays being features of the game. They should have scored more runs, however, as the men did not hit with players on bases, and the base running was not always of the highest order.

The first run was scored in the second inning when Clifford singled, stole second, and came home on a hit by Hann. In the next session Reeves got a life on an error and scored when Purington let Rogers's hit to centre field get between his legs. The last run was made in the eighth, when Desha singled, stole second, advanced to third on McLaughlin's hit, and came in on a double steal.
