SATURDAY'S EXPERIENCE.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

What enthusiasm and determination have done before they can do again. The hope of success for the University track team in the dual meet with Yale received a severe jolt on Saturday. Unexpected weaknesses in the Harvard team cropped out in several events. A few Harvard competitors fell below their usual standard of performance. Two prominent members of the team were unable to compete.

We believe that the team as a whole is capable of doing much better than it did on Saturday. Captain Foster's return to competition is decidedly encouraging. The experience of Saturday's meet should be of no small assistance to the various competitors against Yale next Saturday. The track team has before it an unusual opportunity to show that it can "come back" with added strength and meet the expectation of its supporters. The undergraduate body also has an unusual opportunity to show that its enthusiasm cannot be shattered by reverses. Improved work on the part of the team, combined with strong undergraduate backing, should leave no cause to regret the outcome of the dual meet at New Haven.
