The twenty-fifth annual meeting of the American Economic Association will be held in Boston this year from December 27 to 31. Five other important economic, historical, and sociological societies will hold their meetings at the same time. It is planned to hold a number of the meetings in Cambridge in the University buildings. On Monday, December 30, a luncheon will be given to the delegates by the University and in the afternoon of the same day there will be a reception by President and Mrs., Lowell.

Among the subjects to be discussed will be the minimum wage, banking reform, the rising cost of living and agricultural economics. Professor T. N. Carver, Professor A. B. Hart, and Colonel Roosevelt are included in the number of the prominent contributors to the programs of the societies. It is the aim of those in charge, however, to give less than usual time to reading and formal papers and more time to discussion. The meetings are of growing importance in both the academic and practical world.
