HARVARD AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS.

In a recent issue of the Exonian we see that the Harvard Athletic Association has presented two wherries to Exeter Academy for the encouragement of rowing at that school. The Exonian expresses editorially, in behalf of the school, their appreciation of the gift, and the hope that rowing may again become organized at the Academy.

Aside from establishing a worthy sport at Exeter, the Association's act is to be commended in every way. Such a testimonial of friendly spirit between our athletic authorities and one of the largest schools sending men to Harvard is especially gratifying to a small but energetic group of Harvard men who are trying to bring the preparatory schools into closer relations with the College. We should be the last to countenance proselyting; and it would be pretty defective logic that could so interpret this gift of the H. A. A. But we think that the closer the relation between Harvard and these secondary schools, the greater will be the mutual benefit.
