Before an artist can be definitely engaged to paint the protrait of Dean Shale, the committee must secure some idea of the amount which can be raised from members of the class. All Seniors are therefore asked to contribute at once; and, since the painting will cost $1,500, every man should contribute as much as possible.
It is the plan of the committee to pre that this Senior class may be the first that the Senior class may be the first to give anything to the Union before graduation. It is desirable that such a precedent be set to future classes. The gift will be all the more appropriate since this was the last class to have Dean Shalor for a full year.
Contributions should be given to collectors in the various dormitories or sent to C. V. Imlay, Treasurer, Box 82, Cambridge. SHALER PORTRAIT COMMITTEE.
