LACROSSE TEAM BEAT HOBART

In First Game of Intercollegiate Series, Team Plays Cornell Saturday.

In a one-sided contest on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon, the University lacrosse team won the first intercollegiate game by defeating Hobart by the score of 14 to 2. Both on the offence and defence the University team showed consistent strength, scoring eight goals in the first half and holding its opponents to a single tally. In the second half the Hobart players took a brace, and although they could shoot only one goal, they forced the play to a greater extent. Captain Church played an excellent game for the visitors.

The second game for the University team in the intercollegiate series will be played with Cornell on Soldiers Field next Saturday. Cornell defeated Hobart last week in a well-played practice game by the score of 5 to 4.
