Mr. Joseph A. Holmes, director of the United States Bureau of Mines, will speak on "Sociological and Economic Problems in the Mining Industry" in Emerson D this afternoon at 4.30 o'clock. Mr. Holmes is a well-known geologist and lecturer and has been connected for many years with state and government geological work.
The lecture will be illustrated with lantern slides and will be open to the public.
