Speakers' Club Annual Contest

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The annual contest in extemporaneous speaking for the Speakers' Club cups will be held at the Club House this evening, after a regular fortnightly dinner which will begin at 6.30 o'clock. Two cups, a silver one and a bronze one, for the first and second prizes respectively, have been offered and are now on exhibition in the Club House.

Each competitor will speak on a special phase of a general subject previously chosen. The speeches must be extemporaneous and only 7 minutes in length. The contest is open only to members of the Speakers' Club. These competitions have been very successful in recent years and have been largely responsible for the growing prosperity of the Club.
