The University lacrosse team was defeated by the Boston Lacrosse Club on Soldiers Field Saturday by the score of 2 to 0. The contest was fast and cleanly played, both teams putting up an especially strong defence.
Boston scored two goals at the start, but after this they played a defensive game. The University, by good stick work, kept the ball most of the remainder of the game, but could not score. The Boston line-up included four former Harvard captains.
The summary: Goals--Gustafson 2. Time of halves--25 minutes. Referee--A. B. Conant '13. Freshmen 13; Andover 0. The Freshman lacrosse team defeated Andover in the opening game of its season Saturday by the score of 13 to 0. The 1916 defence held the Andover attack helpless. Wanamaker, who scored 7 goals, and Captain Nash were consistently accurate with their passing.
