ATTENTION TO FOREIGN MISSIONS

Twenty-six men represented the University at the seventh International Convention of the Student Volunteer Movement for Foreign Missions held in Kansas City, Missouri, from December 31 to January 4. 5,031 registered delegates from about 800 institutions attended the meeting. The chairman of the convention was Dr. John R. Mott, and among the speakers were Samuel M. Zwemer, of Cairo, Egypt; Robert E. Speer, of New York; G. S. Eddy, of the International Young Men's Christian Association; and William Jennings Bryan.

The chief work of the Harvard delegation was the forming of plans for the advance of the missionary activities of Harvard. These activities are organized in the Harvard Mission, the Harvard Medical School in Shanghai, China, and the Student Volunteer Band.

On Sunday morning, January 11, at 10 o'clock, a meeting will be held in the Parlor of Phillips Brooks House, when a report of the Kansas City convention will be made. The work of the three organizations mentioned above will be outlined and plans for the advance of the University's place in mission work will be presented. L. A. Morgan '17, W. B. Pirnie '15 and J. C. Manry '13 will speak. All men interested are invited to attend.
